It is the quality policy of American Metal Treating to provide
the highest quality metallurgical processing to the metal working
industry, maintain strict conformance with the requirements and
specifications of our customers and to provide continuous ongoing
improvement in quality, delivery and customer satisfaction.
The quality objectives of American Metal Treating are to
provide the highest quality heat treating to the customer, to provide
our services on time and to improve customer satisfaction.
Quality System
The quality management system (QMS) is registered to ISO9001:2008
by PRI Registrar. (Click
here to view certificate.) We decided to use PRI as our
registrar because of the commitment they have made to the aerospace
industry and to ensure that we meet the stringent requirements of
our aerospace customers. PRI's dedication to continual improvement
has also benefited AMT by focusing our attention on continual improvement
of our QMS, which in turn benefits our customers. Our QMS also meets
the requirements of Appendix B, 10CFR50 for the nuclear industry.
Our QMS creates a framework for clearly defining the control of
processes and verification activities, thus providing our customers
with the confidence that the services provided by American Metal
Treating are performed in a well-defined and controlled environment.
It also ensures that all questions arising from a customer's order
are resolved whether before, during or after processing.
AMT's furnaces are calibrated, surveyed and certified to comply
with AMS 2750 for furnace pyrometry. Furnace control and
recorder calibration is done by an independent source that meets
the quality requirements set forth by our QMS. Furnace surveys are
used to ensure that the uniformity of our furnaces are within the
temperature requirements of AMS-2750 and are performed by
trained personnel in our quality department. This gives our customers
the satisfaction of knowing their work is being processed in equipment
capable of controlling temperatures of ± 10 degrees up to
± 25 degrees from set point depending upon the specification
requirements and type of furnace used for processing.
Hardness testers are essential in the metallurgical processing
industry for ensuring the hardness of customers' products. Our hardness
testers are checked daily using NIST traceable certified test blocks
in the ranges being used and are calibrated twice per year by an
outside source to ensure that our hardness testers meet the requirements
of ASTM-E18 and ASTM-E384. We want our customers to
have the confidence that the equipment used for hardness testing
will provide the most reliable test results possible.
AMT is capable of processing to most MIL, aerospace and nuclear
specifications. We are on the approved supplier lists for many companies
within these industries. Processing certificates as well as furnace
charts can be provided upon request. Give us the opportunity to
quote your next job and provide your company with our metallurgical
expertise.
